Beauty in the Detail

Cream Gold Studded Blouse - Annie and the Mannequins
Gold Shimmer Blazer - Annie and the Mannequins
Chelsea Boots - Office
Bowler Hat - Topshop

Every week when styling up out vintage outfits there is always a few items that we wish we could really keep. This gorgeous cream gold studded blouse was definitely one of this week favourites....but if we kept everything we loved there would be nothing left to sell....and that kind of defeats the purpose huh.

So the blouse ticks all our style boxes...why?...first of all us Annie's are suckers for a statement collar and this collar has lots statement about it. It not only has shimmer metallised embroidery in a gorgeous swirl pattern it has the cutest rectangle studs which define the collars cutesy peaks. As if the collar wasn't enough the twin front pockets add to the blouses charm with the same gorgeous detailing. Oh and for the cherry on the cake....it has chunky rope like gold buttons. If this blouse was a cake we'd definitely eat it.

Here we've teamed it with a light weight gold shimmer blazer, mid wash denim shorts, black knee highs, Chelsea boots and leather satchel for an on trend vintage day look. What do you all think?

Desk to Dinner Appeal

Marshmallow Pink Sheer Kimono One Size// Annie and the Mannequins
Premium Beaded Vest Blouse// Annie and the Mannequins
Coming up for party season we are loving clothing pieces that ooze that 'Desk-to-Dinner' appeal. By this we mean those wardrobe pieces that you can wear to the office then vamp up for an unexpected night out or an impromptu trip to the pub. We're hoping there will be lots of this going on.

Like this marshmallow pink sheer kimono that lies effortlessly and looks super lush on
and this premium black beaded vest blouse, they are our desk to dinner winners!

Team with super skinny skinnies with flats or ankle boots by day. Then for night, pop on your sparkly 70's inspired wedge heels, splash some colour on your lips and boom. Ready for action.

Also this week in the world of The Annies; we are loving mini Yankee jar candles (cherry vanilla especially), bought some fake tan wipes for our handbags -yet to be tested- maybe a case of good idea at the time (we'll let you know) and are a planning on moving into a bigger office. yippee.

Happy Thursday

GET WARM; Our Favourite Outerwear Essentials

Yep. Its definitely that time again, where the search for the perfect winter coat begins. This season we are all over fully lined faux fur coats, real wool double breasted pea coats and fitted heritage blazers. Its always this time of the year when you realise that vintage is definitely worth investing in, when you fall in love with a coat that little bit more when you realise its 100% wool or expertly crafted, unlike the mass produced high street edits. So we have hunted high and low for high quality winter warmers for every taste and style.

So when your on your hunt for your winter wardrobe essentials, remember…Annie and the Mannequins has the best in vintage outerwear. I’ve already invested in this seasons chelsea boot with a lovely chunky heel and wedge front and i’m betting on a vintage faux fur number. Lets get warm for winter.

Style Inspiration; Anya Ziourova

We don't normally do style inspiration posts but after reading this months Elle magazine we couldn't resist. Anya Ziourova was spotted wearing a sleeveless Celine trench coat and we must say it's got us wanting to cut off the arms of all our trench's in a bid to look or even feel as stylish as this lady.
